A bit of History | |

Dreamcast was formed in 1999 when we got our
first showdog, Tresaith's Dollymixture Dream. The plan was for Mike to show Dolly in
Junior Showmanship, but he took a real interest in the Breed ring as well, and the rest,
as they say, is history. Mike has been active in the Conformation ring since January,
2000, and brought the whole family along with him as his parents are also involved in the
sport of Purebred Dogs. Mike was barely tall enough to get his dog on the table when he started showing dogs, as shown here at his very first dog show. It was the Mighty Match in Raleigh, NC in January, 2000, where he proudly showed Dolly to a Group 4. What a way to start!

Our first litter was whelped in September 2001. It was from this litter that Mike got his first Champion, Ch. Dreamcast Carterhall Zeus, and showed him for all of his points. His show career included several Best of Breeds and a Group 1 win. In 2002, we obtained our first Tibetan Spaniel, Ch. Tibroke's Ambrier Fortune Teller, and Mike enjoyed showing him to his championship. Dreamcast was chosen because Mike had a horse named Dreamer, shown here with Mike. When his first showdog also had Dream in her name, it seemed logical to take that as a theme. Dolly's sire was Woodhenge Dreamcaster, so from that we took Dreamcast. Mike has participated in conformation, agility, obedience and rally events and has handled dogs to their titles in all of these venues. Mike has been active in Junior Showmanship since 2000 and has assisted others in showing over 60 dogs. He judged Junior Showmanship at the NC Corgi Picnic Fun Match in 2006. Mike has also been active in the Boy Scouts of America and earned his Eagle Scout Award at the age of 14. He is active in technical theater where he has been Creative Design Manager and Master Carpenter and Electrician for his high school plays. |
